Bansbach easylift in Lorch moves a lot. The gas springs of the worldwide operating mnufacturer move hoods, hatches, tables, doors, devices,… They are in furnitures, medical products, special vehicles or planes such as the new A380. But there was also a lot moved a the location Lorch. Bansbach easylift invested considerably and a new machinery hall was built. On Friday, 10th July 2009, the new production area with over 3.000 m² was inaugurated. In times of the very difficult general economic siutation, this is really not natural. But the economic weak situation also offers the possibility to prepare oneself ideally for the future and to secure the location Lorch with its workplaces in the long term. Bansbach is sure of this.

Growth for more than 40 years
Bansbach has been manufacturing gas springs of highest quality for over 40 years now at the only production location Lorch. They can look back on a company history with constant growth. The company started in the Barbarossa street on a production area of approx. 900 m². In the meantime, this area – including the completion of the new production hall – has risen to nearly 16.000 m². The first gas springs were manufactured by 10 employees in 1965. Meanwhile, the company group Bansbach / Drohmann has more than 300 employees. Highest quality demands as well as the consequent orientation of products according to customers’ requests make Bansbach to a worldwide successful and well-known gas spring manufacturer.

Not only the orientation to customers’ requests is the key to success for Bansbach. Dedicated employees are the most important capital of a company. Therefore, the supreme business objective is the protection of workplaces. Social responsibility is practiced at Bansbach. This is something on which the employees can rely on, even in difficult times. Bansbach waived strictly short-time work and dismissal was never a topic to discuss about. This has clearly been emphasized by the construction of the new machinery hall and consequently with the investment in the production location Lorch.

Production area expanded
The completion of the new machinery hall allows a lot of changes for Bansbach easylift. The manufacturing capacity could be increased considerably which provides a basis for further growth. In the new hall, there is now a complete and very modern machinery consisting of turning machines which allows the manufacturing of Bansbach gas spring parts in an optimal way. Besides the reorganization of the flow of materials and the flow of work, “optimal”means for Bansbach also ergonomic workplaces and a comfortable working atmosphere. With the new building, it was possible to use modern technologies in these fields, too, which, of course, played a central role during the planning of the new production hall. For example a new ventilation system was installed: especially quiet, especially effective. This is not only important for a controlled production but has, of course, also a very positive effect on the climate of the employees. In total, for all measures that were taken, it was important that the broad, light and modern rooms offer a very comfortable place to work for the employees.

Increased flexibility, well prepared for the future
Due to the Bansbach philosophy to offer customer-made gas springs, a very flexible production is necessary. This new machinery hall enables us to fulfill these demands even more efficiently. We are already renovating the spaces of the old machinery places so that they are soon available for the optimal formation of the final assembly process. The whole production and assembly of the gas springs was and will be directed to the futiure. Now, it is the right point of time to use free capacity and to prepare oneself for the next economic recovery.
